Which pets are eligible for the surgery?

Most pets are spayed or neutered around six months of age. Large breeds are usually done at 12 to 15 months. When needed, we can perform the surgery on any puppy or kitten at least 5 pounds or over 16 weeks old. Older pets can be spayed and neutered too, with pre-anesthetic bloodwork required for any pet over three.

Before any surgery

All dogs must have been examined here within the last year and be current on Rabies, DHPP and Kennel Cough vaccines. Cats must be current on Rabies and FVRCP.

Spaying and neutering is important for every pet not being used for breeding. Beyond preventing unwanted litters, it lowers the risk of several cancers and other medical conditions. In male dogs and cats, neutering also curbs marking and mounting behaviors and reduces the urge to roam.
